Baron Silas Greenback is an evil toad out to rule the world, and the main enemy of Danger Mouse.
Physical Appearance[]
Baron Greenback is a round toad, with a round face, broad shoulders, thin arms, and even thinner legs. He wears a beige suit and purple tie. His pet, Nero is considered higher than his hench-crow stiletto!
Trivia[]
- Edward Kelsey apparently based Greenback's voice on a farmer he had a disagreement with!
- The Baron stops the world from spinning in the original series season one episode 10, Ice Station Camel. However, he also attempts to stop the world from spinning in the reboot series in season one's 8th episode The Other Day the Earth Stood Still.
- In the pilot episode, he was called Baron Greenteeth.
- In the rumoured lost original pilot he was called Baron Greenchief. His appearence is in the said work is also currently unknown, although its possible that the common used cells of him originated from the latter.
- "Greenback" was British slang for a paper one-pound note, which used to be green. They were phased out in favour of pound coins in the mid 1980s but were still very much current when Danger Mouse debuted in 1981. So the Greenback name is a pun on his money obsession, as well as the fact he's a toad.
